Lighthouse publishes economic-impact estimates for its proposed SAF facility

Biofuels International reports an Arup analysis commissioned for Lighthouse Green Fuels’ proposed Teesside facility, forecasting more than GBP 8 billion in UK gross value added over construction and operations. Velocys launches AlphaCore 800 for larger SAF and e-fuel projects

Velocys announced AlphaCore 800, a microchannel Fischer-Tropsch reactor designed to produce up to 800 barrels per day, approximately 30,000 tonnes per year, of FT liquids per reactor. The company positions it for SAF and e-fuel projects targeting at least 100,000 tonnes per year, describing design capacity rather than reporting a newly operating fuel plant.

UK fuel association criticises the refusal to levy duties on US HVO

Biofuels International reports RTFA’s criticism of the UK decision not to impose countervailing duties on US HVO. The TRA’s original 10 September determination confirms that imports were subsidised and caused injury, but that no anti-subsidy duties will apply. RTFA argues this threatens domestic biodiesel investment; that investment outlook is the association’s assessment, rather than a demonstrated plant closure.
