MPOC forecasts stable Malaysian palm-oil exports despite regional supply risks

MPOC relays a Bernama/The Star report forecasting Malaysian palm-oil exports around 16 million tonnes in 2027. Citing Oil World, it projects production declines of 1.9 million tonnes in Indonesia and 0.7 million tonnes in Malaysia, alongside stronger Indonesian biodiesel demand. These are forward-looking market estimates; they do not establish realised export volumes or allocation of all palm oil to fuel.

MPOC forecasts firm October palm-oil prices amid weather and energy-market risks

The Malaysian Palm Oil Council forecasts crude palm oil above RM4,700 per tonne in October, citing weather risks and energy-market conditions. It reports Malaysian August production of 1.81 million tonnes and stocks of 2.82 million tonnes. The price outlook and 2027 supply projections are the association’s attributed expectations, with lower energy prices and additional stocks identified as downside risks.

Indonesia reports B50 at 94% of fuel stations while strengthening specifications and vehicle monitoring

Indonesia’s energy ministry reported that B50 had reached 6,050 of 6,412 fuel stations by mid-September, with 76 of 104 delivery terminals supplying it and 28 still transitioning from B40. The ministry describes tighter water-content and oxidation-stability requirements and planned monitoring of vehicles up to 100,000 kilometres. These are the 15 September report’s status and planned tests, not proof that every terminal has since completed transition.

Why it matters:Provides official rollout and terminal-transition figures plus concrete technical implementation work.

GAPKI urges flexible B50 policy as palm-oil demand faces supply risks

GAPKI urged flexible implementation of Indonesia’s B50 biodiesel policy, citing pressure on palm-oil availability, food demand and exports. Chairman Eddy Martono projects domestic palm-oil demand could reach about 29 million tonnes annually under his full-B50 scenario for 2027 and warns El Niño could reduce production by 2.5–3 million tonnes; these are association forecasts, not realized consumption or an announced regulatory change.

Indonesia’s July palm-oil exports rise, while January–July volumes decline

MPOC relays a 1 September report citing Indonesian statistics-bureau data: July palm-oil exports reached 2.23 million tonnes, up 15.44% annually, while January–July exports totalled 13.51 million tonnes, down 0.97%. The series covers crude and refined palm oil and explicitly excludes palm-kernel oil, oleochemicals and biodiesel. It therefore cannot be treated as Indonesia’s biodiesel-export total.
