Perpetual Next licenses Air Liquide syngas-to-methanol tech for first biomethanol plant
Perpetual Next has signed a license and engineering agreement with Air Liquide Engineering and Technologies for syngas-to-methanol technology — RectisolTM and LurgiTM methanol — for its first biomethanol facility in the Netherlands, with an option to extend the agreement to other biomethanol sites. The deal advances the company's Biomethanol Blueprint, a standardized concept integrating torrefaction, gasification, syngas cleaning and methanol synthesis to convert low-grade organic waste including waste wood into biomethanol. Perpetual Next's Delfzijl plant is planned with 220000 tonnes of annual biomethanol capacity, targeting demand for renewable carbon-based methanol in the chemical industry and maritime sector.
