Study finds bamboo could be a competitive feedstock for liquid biofuels
Researchers including a Worcester Polytechnic Institute team reported that bamboo could be converted into biocrude for transportation fuels at costs competitive with conventional petroleum fuels and with lower greenhouse-gas emissions. The study combined laboratory measurements of conversion efficiency with economic and lifecycle modeling. The findings were published in Sustainable Energy & Fuels.
