    16 groups urge EU to ring-fence SMAP support for e-fuels

    A group of 16 companies, investors and NGOs said in an October 12 letter that EU lawmakers should reserve part of the proposed SMAP mechanism for e-fuels. The letter estimates €15 billion of support between 2028 and 2040 and calls for book-in-advance to support long-term offtakes and pre-FID projects.
