SAF Production and Supply
SABA members committed to multi-year SAF certificates for Infinium's Atlas project. OMV Petrom installed major equipment for its EUR 560 million, 250,000 t/year SAF/HVO unit. Verso Energy and Q8Aviation announced strategic cooperation for long-term e-SAF supply from Verso's DEZiR project to Q8Aviation's European operations.
SABA members commit to SAF certificates supporting Infinium Project Atlas
SABA members including AVEVA, Bain, Google and McKinsey committed to multi-year SAF certificate purchases associated with Infinium’s planned Project Atlas. The Texas facility is expected to produce approximately 100,000 tonnes of SAF annually, with American Airlines as physical fuel offtaker. The book-and-claim commitments support financing and progression toward final investment decision; certificate buyers do not necessarily receive the fuel themselves, and the announcement is not evidence that Atlas is operating.
OMV Petrom installs major equipment for 250,000 t/year Petrobrazi SAF/HVO unit
OMV Petrom says foundations are complete and major columns and reactors have been installed for its EUR 560 million Petrobrazi SAF/HVO unit. The planned 250,000 t/year facility will process vegetable fats and used cooking oils with green hydrogen, with commissioning estimated for 2028. Separate 55 MW electrolyzer modules have also been delivered. Construction progress is established; the announced fuel capacity remains planned.
Verso Energy and Q8Aviation agree strategic cooperation on DEZiR e-SAF supply
Verso Energy and Q8Aviation announced strategic cooperation for long-term e-SAF supply from Verso's DEZiR project to Q8Aviation's European operations. The announcement says DEZiR is progressing toward final investment stage and that the companies will explore wider cooperation as demand develops. The public HTML release does not give a committed offtake quantity or financial value.
Renewable Diesel and Methanol
EcoCeres announced a partnership to supply used-cooking-oil-derived HVO for backup power at AstraZeneca's Wuxi facility. TALKE USA implemented RD99 renewable diesel across its Class 8 truck fleet following a successful trial. India's Ministry of Shipping reported the foundation-stone ceremony for a 150 t/day port-based e-methanol project at Kandla.
EcoCeres announces HVO supply for AstraZeneca’s Wuxi backup generators
EcoCeres announced a partnership to supply used-cooking-oil-derived HVO for backup power at AstraZeneca’s medicines manufacturing facility in Wuxi, China. The producer describes the fuel as ISCC verified and claims lifecycle greenhouse-gas savings of up to 90% against conventional diesel. The release gives no supply volume or measured site-level reduction.
India lays foundation stone for 150 t/day port-based e-methanol project at Kandla
India's Ministry of Shipping reported the foundation-stone ceremony for a Deendayal Port Authority and Assam Petro-Chemicals e-methanol project at Kandla. The planned 150 t/day plant uses renewable power, water and biogenic CO2 and targets shipping on the Asia-Europe corridor. The announced investment is INR 2,300 crore, with 50 t/day targeted for January 2027 and another 100 t/day for March 2027. These are construction and target milestones, not verified commercial production.
TALKE USA moves Class 8 fleet from RD99 trial to renewable-diesel implementation
TALKE USA announced implementation of RD99 renewable diesel across its existing Class 8 truck fleet following a successful earlier trial. The company said available supply and current commercial conditions at or near conventional ultra-low-sulfur diesel prices enabled the move. The fuel can be used with its existing engines and infrastructure. No fleet size, fuel volume or independently measured emissions reduction was disclosed.
